The Story Behind The Painting
Paradise Point feels like an echo of Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia, softened by time, with something of Blue Rocks in its weathered fishing stages and quiet shoreline. The little houses have settled across the green headland as though each has found its own shelter from the Atlantic winds. Below them, bright boats rest beside the wharves, waiting for morning, while one small boat drifts beyond the point on water so still that the village seems to have a second life in its reflection.
Elizabeth did not paint a particular place or try to preserve an exact view. She paints from the echoes of memory—colours, shapes and feelings gathered from many maritime villages and carried quietly through the years. Here, those memories become a place where time slows, the sea grows calm, and the simple beauty of life along the coast reminds us of what nourishes the soul—and what we are responsible for protecting.
Elizabeth is a passionate supporter of charitable organizations dedicated to protecting endangered species. With every print purchased, a portion of the proceeds is donated to wildlife conservation efforts — helping preserve the natural world that inspires her art.
