The Story Behind The Painting
Sunset Serenity feels like an echo of Menemsha in Massachusetts, with something of St. Martins in New Brunswick in its fishing wharf, colourful boats and glowing harbour. The village gathers at one side of the cove while the setting sun opens a path of gold and rose across the water. Dories drift among rounded rocks, and the distant headland rests in shadow as the warmth of the sky settles over everything.
Elizabeth did not paint a particular sunset or copy a familiar shoreline. She allowed remembered colours and coastal shapes to find their own harmony on the canvas. Sunset Serenity captures that fleeting moment when the working day releases its hold, the sea gathers the last light and the heart becomes quiet enough to notice how beautiful the world can be.
Elizabeth is a passionate supporter of charitable organizations dedicated to protecting endangered species. With every print purchased, a portion of the proceeds is donated to wildlife conservation efforts — helping preserve the natural world that inspires her art.
